Walking
Enjoy the beautiful rolling countryside, whether it by a challenging Southern Upland Way or a gentle stroll straight from your cottage door. There are plenty of good local areas to exercise your dog.

Cycling
The local area offers fantastic cycling to suit all tastes - from a gentle ride on our quiet country lanes to serious mountain biking. The nearby forest of Ae and Drumlanrig Castle estate offer many interresting signposted routes.

Golfing
There are many courses to choose from - the attractive one in Thornhill welcomes visitors. We have some golf clubs for you to borrow free of charge.

Fishing
The nearby River Nith offers superb sport and has established a reputation for its quality of salmon. There are also excellent trout fishing on many of the local lochs. Course fishing is available nearby.

Horse Riding
Horse riding is available just round the corner from here! Please ask for any further information you require.

Wildlife
The wildlife around the cottages is varied and plentiful - red squirrels, pheasants, many species of wild birds including the greater spotted woodpecker and roe deer in the adjacent woods (also more rabbits than Watership Down!)
